"We're really pleased with the new staff that we've hired," said Head, who replaced Al Abbott who owned and operated Nanaimo's Canadian Tire since 1995 last year.
"Our new people will be working closely with our regular staff in preparation for the opening of our new store."
Head said the construction of the new store is on schedule and is expected to be completed sometime in November.
He said announcements of when the grand opening of the store is scheduled will be made later in the fall.
"Right now, our staff is working with a local contractor to install store fixtures, counters and shelving inside the store while the construction project to complete the building continues," he said.
