In the bull stirks clases, the leading performer on price at ￡450 was a Shorthorn-cross, while a Parthenais-cross sold at ￡400. H&E Collier & Son, of Oakworth, achieved two top prices with a British Blue at ￡375 and a Limousin at ￡300, while three more top prices fell to A Roebuck, of Stalybridge, with a Simmental at ￡265, a Hereford and a Montbeliarde, both sold at ￡240. W Fortune, of Wigglesworth, had the best of the black and whites at ￡265.

Thomas Atkins was also prominent in the steers section with a further seven top breed prices – a Limousin at ￡645, also top call of the day, a Saler at ￡440, a Simmental at ￡410, an Aberdeen Angus at ￡400, a Montbeliarde at ￡400, a Hereford at ￡370 and a Shorthorn at ￡285. Black and white prices peaked at ￡405 for an entry from G&L Newburn, of Bailiff Bridge, while a pen of Belted Galloways from A&G Greenwood, of Trawden,Highly capable, 3-axis non-contact video measuring machine, suitable for both simple shop-floor quality control and advanced manufacturing inspection applications ... sold to a high of ￡400.

Gimmer lambs made to ￡68 per head for a Badger Face pen from W&M Barry, of Stranraer, and store sheep to ￡61 each for a pen of Texels from JE&ME Grange, of Follifoot.
